You’re kidding right? All that turtle looking shyster had to do was clamp down on New Orleans, take steps to protect the old folks homes and let the rest of us go about our business. Instead he has fricked up the remaining parts of the economy he didn’t take out in his first term

your position is it is not worth the fight say so.
Leaning this way more than anything else. He should probably open back up. I’d be supportive of the guy opening the state and I think he should. I’m not one of the ones freaking out about Corona and I’ve not put a mask or set of gloves on yet. But with Louisiana people, the second he opened the state back up and people started reporting new Covid cases, fat Cajuns and Karen’s would start shitting in Facebook again.
Then there’s be about 1,000 Cajun Navy baws in Columbia shirts pissed off because he isn’t acting like a leader and didn’t protect them. There’s probably plenty of ethical and legal violations he’s committed that he’s worthy to be removed from office over, but you have no grounds to do it based on extending an order already in place. If he tried extending it once again, I’d say go ahead.

I remember the abuse I got back in 2015 during the Gubernatorial election from people including conservatives I respected and they were all in on JBE.
I told them they were idiotically losing their minds like a damn sky screamer over superficial things from David Vitter that had absolutely no impact on their lives, their pocketbook and were making a huge mistake going with the tax and spend liberal from Bumfrick Nowhere over the experienced conservative United States Senator.
They played a stupid game and now they're pissed over the stupid prize they have now.
Elections have consequences. They're not exactly a popularity contest.
I would laugh at them if I didn't have to live with the consequences of their votes. They forced me to live with it.

The democrat Governor of Colorado is already reopening, our neighbors in Texas, Georgia and Arkansas are already reopening.
Our hospital system is not overwhelmed and will clearly not be.
There is no basis to keep the lockdown order in effect and yet JBE wants two more weeks and then possibly another two weeks after that.

On the topic of an early exit for John Bel Edwards through a recall petition, I would support it if I had assurances that Lt. Governor Fat Pinky Billy Nungesser would not become Governor.
Since I don't have that assurance, I cannot support a recall of John Bel Edwards.
Louisiana made its bed with JBE, they have to ride it out all the way to the end of his second term in 2023 and suffer the consequences from him.

No. If I didn't believe that suicide sent you straight to hell, or had a duty to provide for a family. I would have killed myself already.

This is what happens when you elect a regulation nazi from West Point. At this point I'd rather an honest crook.

As I admitted in my first post it appears on an institutional level the citizens of Louisiana can not do anything to curb the power of the Governor despite the fact as I have been told we currently have the most conservative legislature in Louisiana in 100 years.
The same emergency powers statute that gave JBE these powers has a mechanism by which the Legislature can end it with a simple majority vote of only one chamber. La. R.S. 29:768
Call your legislator and share you opinion. Participate in a representative democracy.
