This event trashes the Quarter more than any this side of Fat Tuesday.
Picture it: 1000s of amateur drunks, staying after the "race" and boozing all day long in the August heat, staggering drunk all over the Quarter, stumbling through Dirty Linen Night along Royal Street, that jambalaya was a BAD IDEA, vomiting repeatedly, the dress in rags....

Some of them suck. I've seen several of them set up tailgate tents on sidewalks around Lafitte's and other bars. They bring yetis full of alcohol, gatorade coolers or punch and speaker systems.
That's worse than roping off at Mardi Gras.
eta...my buddy owns the house right past Lafitte's w/ the ivy. Those aren't his tents.
