Property crimes up across the country due to the opioid problem. Rate has doubled locally, though it's probably a half dozen people doing most of the stealing

No way NY is #2, right? NYC alone should put them middle of the pack.

Yeah, WA has always been a big heroin state so I'm not surprised at the property crime. Been lucky so far. The only state I've ever been burglarized in is HI which also has a big drug problem.

NYC now has the lowest crime rate of any large city in the US.

It would be interesting to see the same map but only ranking the months of April through September.

Most of the blue states are cold.

Even the dumbest criminal is smart enough to not freeze to death or get frostbite.

NYC is surprisingly safe, especially Manhattan. Pedestrian deaths are a big concern. Armed robbery, not so much.

It's based on population, and property crime.

So as long as you aren't living in the south side of Chicago, you're probably just as safe as you would be in an Alaskan city.
