That is entirely too expensive for that work. Take it to a local independent garage….preferably one that specializes in air conditioning. Take it to another town if you have to.

I am surprised at how many people know what refrigerant their vehicle used. I have NO idea what mine uses.

When Honeywell's patent runs out then the price will go down as china will mass produce it. Honeywell spent close to if not over 100 million to get this product through all the US Government testing as well as buying that plant in North Baton Rouge to produce the 1234 refrigerant.

Expansion orifice clogged.
The clutch on the compressor probably grenaded and they didnt vacuum out the system of debris. It will clog the condenser or the thing u said if it's not vacuumed.

Remember that even dealerships have a hard time keeping qualified mechanics on staff."
Don't blame the individual mechanic regarding the dealerships' policies. More specifically the repair depts' repair policies. His dealership is replacing all components as well as flushing lines in order due insure they will have it fixed as well as being able to fully warranty the repair.

The answer is and will always be frick the government. They are the root of your problem.

Honda's have horrible a/c systems believe it or not. Not sure if it's still like this but 7-10 years ago the compressors would just explode internally and metal shavings would get into the system and you would have to replace everything. Not sure if that is still the case though.
