Correct. Check for bad ground. The negative cable grounds on the frame ir engines block. Make sure those cables clean good connections and are not corroded. Do a good wiggle test. Check the positive cables at the battery. If you see green colored rust looking stuff in there it’s time to clean or replace. This may require a good honest tech. They do exist.

Here a question I often ask. Has any work been recently been done on tbe car? You could have a bad connection or ground. Has it been a wreck in the front end?

Bad ground
Wiring harness short, sometimes in the drivers door.
Voltage regulator on alternator is bad, very good possibility. Or bad alternator.
What voltage is your alternator charging? Is the voltage steady?

No recent work. No front end wrecks.

Well unfortunately this isnt really something that can be troubleshot via message board communication.

If you aren't well versed in DC electronics, can communication, etc you'll probably have to pay someone to fix this.

You can get a good Bluetooth obd2 dingle and diagnostics app and try diving into it. Try the vehicle specific forums that exist for basically all modern vehicles, and go from there.

Did you measure alternator output with car running?

Hold probes on pos and neg term o n battery and have someone in the car when a problem shows up.
Do you see a sudden spike or drop in alt output?

Thats the easiest place to start...
