He'd need to read a blog in favor of that position first.

So it has absolutely nothing to do with the notion of keeping happy marriages together. Got it.

He shot his whole argument down with one word, and didn't even realize it.

You're looking at specific instances where the relationships were already crumbling. What if the relationship was perfectly healthy ?

I've never done it and just knowing my wife, I never will do it. I know of three other couples who have tried either swinging or bringing in another woman. In all three instances the marriage was first damaged and finally destroyed. Take it for what it's worth.

I'm not saying the lifestyle is for me, but it's not hard to imagine that some people may actually become closer and more connected by partaking if both are into it. I'm guessing most of the issues arise when one spouse is into it and the other just partakes to please their spouse.

Yeah. Lots of couples try swinging as a last ditch resort. That's the worst reason.

Except that it doesn't help marriages. So it's a moot point.

I wouldn't support it because I'm a Christian so morally I would choose not to. But I realize y'all don't believe what I do.

Of the three, only one marriage was in trouble before they started.

Like I said, I've never done it and if folks want to do it then that's none of my business. I was only sharing what I've seen with my own eyes.

Not everyone who smokes gets lung cancer. Doesn't make smoking a pack a day advisable.

Unless you lived with them, how would you honestly know? Because they told you? Serious question?

Redirect; if your wife cheats or does it with permission what the hell is the difference. The act is still the same. If sex doesn't matter it doesn't matter. So cheating cannot exist in your world.

You're telling me it has never helped a single marriage? Or is it that your beliefs tell you that it is not good for marriages? The two are different and I don't think you can decipher the distinction.

That's not a very good analogy and I'm drunk.

It's better to advise against marriage than to advise against swinging.

There are people who say cocaine improved their life. Doesn't make it true

And it's a combo of life experiences and biblical convictions

The permission? The lying? The desire to sneak around? If you can't see the difference, there's nothing I can tell you.

Cheating can exist, it connotates lying.
