MP huh? D-40 here in 1986 (D-11 when you were there).

We graduated on a Saturday. We had a few hours of free time on Friday but couldn't leave the post. We were released to our family after graduation and permitted to leave post over night, had to be back by 16:00 Sunday.

Graduated from OSUT at Benning in 2013 and they let us spend the night off post with our families/ lady friends if we wanted. Then depending on what your orders stated about when you had to be at your new duty station dictated anything after that. I know a couple of guys who got a few days to visit before having to report and know a couple of others who had to be at Fort Drum 24 hours after graduating. However, OSUT may be different than basic for guys who have to go somewhere else for AIT. Hope this helps

You guys are doing this all wrong. Go down to the CO’s office, walk in without knocking and you tell him when you will be back after graduation. Don’t take any back talk from him either. He will respect your forcefulness and will probably grant you some bonus weekend passes and maybe a trip to the O Club.
