Nowadays? Good luck knowing when the bus will run or when she will be on it if delayed. Practice times shift at least once every two weeks and usually more (girls sports with single fields for both boys and girls..such as soccer are the biggest issues).

Your kids must go to poorly run schools. My daughter plays sports and is on the dance team. Every practice or event ends when it’s supposed to. I’ve never once needed the cell phone to pick her up.

Either that, or your just finding a reason to be a helicopter parent.

All I know is this. We just got back from a week at scout camp. All the kids that go to private school and have unfettered use of cell phones were MUCH more problematic than the public school kids that did not. The level of disrespect for adult leaders and vulgarity of the private school kids was totally opposite of what one would expect.

We had cellphones with us in the event that we needed to call our parents after school in case of an emergency or if theres a sudden change in your afternoon plans.

Geeze how did we ever survive without calling Mommy and Daddy letting them know it's an emergency our plans changed

"Put your phone away while I'm up here. If I see it again, I'm writing you up."

Done. What's the next non-issue that boomers are going to throw a fit about?
