They actually teach you this in wilderness survival courses. Dig a hole below the high tide line, do your business, and the tide comes in and carries it away.

This is by no means a Canadian healthcare outlier.

This type of thing happens all the time. “Oh, it’s not going to kill you in 2 weeks? Well, you can wait for 8 months, then. Unless, that is, you go to a private clinic.”
