So they speak out and rat out the incompetence. They would be fired a short while later for some other reason (but really for blowing the whistle). What do they do next? Try to get hired by a construction company? Go on unemployment and get labeled as a pos who is a drain on tax dollars?
I agree that S&WB employees should have come forth sooner, but I cant damn them if it means doing so would take away a salary they depend on for the good of their family.

Let's be honest
These employees were not doing shite
They didn't speak up because their "jobs" were unsupervised and nothing was expected of them

This mother f***** spent the last eight months focusing on Statue removal instead of having the city's pump system ready for hurricane season. I don't know what to tell you New Orleans but y'all got f*****
I enjoyed the assurances that this wasn't a waste of time because "people can focus on more than one issue at a time." This is why people rightfully mock wasting time on shite that doesn't matter. It really does make idiot politicians take their eye off the ball.

I 100% agree with that. I can also agree that when disparaging the S&WB they should admit that they did nothing to change it.

Landrieu: We're going to make sure we have everything in place so people are safe. This is not a time to panic
Then why in the fricks frick did you send me an emergency alert at 3 fricking 04 in the fricking morning to tell me that a pump was on fire?
When I hear an emergency alert go off at 3:04 am the first thing im doing in PANICKING.

Need the statues taken down? Call the fire department.
Need to handle a fire in a pumping station anchor necessary to keep your city from flooding? Better save them mobile minutes.

Too busy taking down statues
Posted on 8/10/17 at 11:44 am to rt3
Do we even know that the fire happened at 3am today as opposed to last month and they are just now admitting it?

$2.1mm for the statues though

Maybe he can get the Marsalis brothers to fund this shite since they will pay to remove the statues.

8mm for his cousin to tear up bourbon though.
A promise that he could easily raise 15million for a water feature though.

That picture of JBE and Mitch his giving me violent flashbacks to Blanco and Mary. I don't like it.

It probably wasn't large enough. It doesn't take much fire to render a pump motor useless.

Yall think the Cash Money Millionares and Master P could throw in some private funding? We could name the pumps after their top hits
Posted on 8/10/17 at 11:50 am to MorgusTheMagnificent
This is why you don't vote for democrats in today's America.

I've been trying to buy a house in New Orleans for about 6 months. I think this is the last straw I'd rather commute from BR than live in New Orleans. I hope he gets fricking dick AIDS.
