And Bourbon Street work is months behind schedule. What street are the tourists going to piss and vomit in during Mardi Gras?
The city will end up paying Hard Rock to accelerate (work 2nd shift/weekends/etc...) at a ridiculous markup in order to finish for Mardi Gras
Book it

Just curious, why would one schedule maintenance during the middle of hurricane season?

this is a perfect expression to have when Mitch talks:

I thought removing those statues made New Orleans a perfect utopia

Landrieu said he was "extremely frustrated and angry" at the S&WB for failing to communicate clearly to allow people to "protect themselves" during Saturday's flood.
How the frick would they protect themselves? Did he want them to fix the pumps themselves?

Option 1 - Stupidity
Option 2 - They are out of commission anyway and calling it "maintenance" sounds less malicious than admitting the shite broke, the city didn't fix them, and the city didn't say anything about this until after the last flood.

They said in the council meeting that the 14 broken pumps were actually broken. That number doesn't include the ones down for maintenance and the ones not turned on.

Some people like sidewalks, no ditches in front of their house, street lights, and a place to grab a burger or go to the store without haven't to drive forever to get there and back.
Then you would love my neighborhood in Texas. We also have the added benefits of not flooding, not getting raped or robbed, seeing our tax dollars spent on improvements, and a public school system you can send your kids to.

I think white people were just shocked to see a white mayor.
Probably won't have another for a long time.

Charbonnet needs to be working day and night to find out Latoya knew about these shortcomings.
Charbonnet proves that and she has won.

Give Mitch and that NOFD clown some wrenches and put them to work on the burning turbines. They were really good at removing massive bronze statues, so maybe they can do this too.
