It’s a good holiday flick with some flaws and some great moments. Nothing more.

The marathon ruined it for me. My BiL wouldn’t let the family turn it off for like a decade, it got really freakin annoying. Still refuse to watch it anymore.
Worst part is my in laws bring out pics of my father in law to show how much he looked like Ralphie
Which he didn’t - so it was annoying as hell and now I can’t stand the movie

I find Will generally hilarious (at least from the 90s to the early 2010s) and I don’t find elf funny. I’ve just never really liked it.

My dad also grew up in a working class Midwest town. So it just makes me think of what he told me life was like growing up. He’s also quite similar to the old man in the movie.
