Power / Audio for Mardi Gras Floats...

What speakers or systems do you use on your mardi gras floats? How are you powering the system? Thanks.

my BIL uses a portable generator

Everyone on the float brings an extension cord.

The floats are powered by a generator. Extension cords are used to connect.
Another option is to use a power station (large capacity battery). Just be sure to check the wattage and amp hours for your system. Remember that the ride is usually just 3-4 hours.

Plan for breakdowns if you’re in Houma. Those can last 5-7 hours.
Plan for dumbasses crawling under moving floats in NOLA. That shuts the whole parade down.
