I bet they have great snow though.

This is on my bucket list for boarding.
Stationed in Japan back in the 70's. Skied several slopes in northern Honshu back before there were snowboards. Mountains aren't very high and most of it is wet snow due it being bordered by water on both sides. Very beautiful and back then not very crowded. Mt. Hokkado was our go to.

It's the middle of nowhere so probably not a great investment if you want to run it as a business. But if your stupid rich and want a private resort for family and friends...

It’s 5.8 million in USD. Seriously a significant number of people could afford it

I could afford a 20% down payment and finance the rest but I’d have to run it as a business because I’d be broke otherwise

Yea, lots of kooks and gapers spending $10K on trips to Whistler only for it to rain on the lower 2/3s of the Mtn the entire time

I dislike Whistler and have written as such in previous posts. Tons of people there just to be seen because they sure can’t ride worth a frick. Jerryville. Vail resort so American idiots ruining rugged Canada.

Banff is so much more picturesque and yeah, Revelstoke.

You’d be miserably cold trying to find out. The place is Arctic.

Needs an airport and guessing infrastructure to support much would be huge

So many sick ski areas up there- Fernie, Kicking Horse, Panorama, Revelstoke etc

I've skied all of these except remove Panorama and insert Sunshine and Lake Louise. And yes...it is not easy to get to them. Flight to Calgary is easy enough, but outside of Sunshine and Lake Louise, the rest are a haul.

Revy is cool bec of it's sheer size but Kicking Horse and Fernie are tougher mountains. Kicking Horse is not for the timid. Lake Louise is the most beautiful. I felt drunk af just skiing there taking in the jaw dropping scenery.
