What is the traffic like going into BR from I12 in the mornings? Only concerns I have is how far away I will possibly be from things in gonzales and BR. Especially the wife works in BR. I know the area did not flood also. Any help is appreciated.

You speak French?

Also, you might want to check on Flood Insurance.

Plenty of people have bought property because it didn't flood and find out that "hasn't flooded" doesn't always mean "won't ever flood".

I'm in French Settlement and in zone X on the flood maps. $450 a year for the max NFIP offers.

In 2005, my primary residence was in the minimal flood risk category (with the lowest available NFIP premium).

I had almost four feet of floodwater in it.

There are places in and around French Settlement that have never historically flooded that will eventually flood.

I hope not you but Flood Map designations don't stop floodwaters.

Floodwater can't read maps.
