They were heading back to the dock and the boat wouldn't slowdown. The dad turned to pull the fuel line and when he turned back they were heading straight for a piling and he tried to turn to miss it. The boat hit the bottom of it and threw them both out. Dad had on a vest.

Damnit. Must have broken the shift linkage or something. That's just bad luck and a shame.

I had a steering cable break on me before and it's pretty easy to imagine it happening right as you're passing a tug or going under a bridge or something. The shite could happen to anybody.

Be safe and wear a life vest. That's all you can do.

Yep freak accident they were like 1/4 mile from the ramp.
