People who use fake crisis to manipulate others

It is really sad that someone could have such a low self esteem that they need to use a fake crisis to get you to feel sorry for them. They may not be self aware that they are doing it but they are. Have you had someone use a fake crisis to try and manipulate you?

The classics are the fake "I'm pregnant", "I'm in danger from another" or "I'm gonna kill myself." The government/politicians use fake crisis and fear to motivate us (Bush WMDs) and so do political protesters--example BLM at Mizzou.
