Should have killed SNAP and funded the food banks where healthy options could be forced and fraud could be reduced.
Food banks are almost exclusively non-perishable. Outside of rice and beans, there is no non-processed/canned foods.

Screw the current system . They need to back to Spam, beans, processed cheese and chit like that. Instead of King crab legs and prime steaks loaded into brand new Escalades.

SNAP should be uncooked food only - fresh fruits, vegetables, and uncooked meats. The ‘s’ in snap stands for supplemental, and that’s how it should be used.

God we need to just stop all these food programs. It just incentivizes bad behavior.
There are good uses of this too. As a freshman, I was on my own at 18. I was full time in college and working as a free intern at almost 20 hours a week. So I worked 30 hours a week at $10 an hour at another job I had. So with rent, car insurance, prepaid phone bill, gas (still one of the highest periods of gas prices at $3 a gallon for regular), school books, etc. the EBT card helped. I only stayed on it for a year until that internship turned in to a full position able to pay everything through school.
My dad also had to use it before he passed when he got cancer and couldn’t work and disability income was almost nothing for him. Again he got off once I moved him in with me and I paid for everything.
I’m not against the benefits as a whole, there are people that need it, but a majorrrrrr reworking needs to be done.
