Add Claret and Bowery to that list. Granted Bar Frances closed, but more to that story than just simply closing.

In what alternate reality are you and fighting tigers living in?

What alternate reality? All of this is actually happening.

Again, not dismissing the sector is struggling and that we need to open up, but some restaurants are making it work.

A very slow and painful recovery.
Tourism will be slow to recover due to the world as a whole being impacted. That will play a major part.

That NOLA is in the same situation as virtually everywhere else in the country.

I know that. I don’t think I was arguing against that fact.

I haven't been this entire thread, but for some reason no one seems to care.

like many other cities my man

things could change, but as of now, this is just a speed bump for a city that was making great progress; not sure id call for the demise of new orleans quite yet

What grrl said earlier is on point

The city loves weekend tourists but needs big conferences and conventions to thrive

The money managers will look at the business climate and decide where to re-invest and invest new dollars. One of the first things they will look at is rate of return. If the city has minimal bookings in the next two years and is run by unfriendly to business types then the return will drag. Cities like San Antonio and Orlando tourism will thrive, New Orleans is a giant question mark.

A few bars opened and new taco stands might be enough to satisfy locals but major event planners want more certainty. Cantrell’s short term attitude is devastating to the business incumbents in NOLA, it may be cancer to new money coming in.

Waiting on DC to save your arse is hope, not a plan. Get in line

I’m not calling for any demise of the city. I work in the city and am heavily invested in it. I just do not see all the rainbow unicorn stuff some of y’all are seeing with the city right now. Forget restaurants and bars, the permit department is a nightmare which halts progress. I deal with that shite storm every day.

City Hall has always worked against progress though, nothing new on that front.

It isn't rainbows and sunshine we are pumping, we just don't see the end of the world any longer. There are bright spots.

Exactly

If the mayor and the Gov are working together and investors see a prime city brand with friendly leadership that city will jump to the head of the line. JBE and Cantrell are incompetent, so what can they do to convince money people willing to invest that nola is a good platform?

Watch NACE Corrosion 2024

It is slated for NOLA, if it moves in the next two years or so you will have a big indicator
