Yeah, that was part of an add on package we didn't get on our van. Just as well, Mr 1999 freaks out when I leave them in the car for anything. And they're too little to unlock doors- still in car seats.

Do you lock doors, I assume? How do you re-enter? Second key or use the valet key inside remote? Tempted to do that but worried it won't work and I'll have to call someone to unlock and possibly attract helicopters & po
Well if you don't have a spare key or keyless entry then don't lock it.
No one wants to steal a few annoying kids that you left in the car for 5 minutes. I swear, they are more in danger of bad animal crackers than they are random roaming predators

Have the wino outside sit in the car with the kids while you go inside and gab the milk and mad dog

Once you get remote start you'll never be able to live without it again.
And yes my kids are 6 and 3 so if I need them to unlock a door I just tell them to unbuckle and do it

I leave mine in the car all the time for stops at Circle K.

Agreed. Like I said, I worry more about someone calling the cops than I do them being in danger.
Then I remember that awful story from a few years back about the 3 y/o in the back of the car jacked suv, where the baby gets dragged for miles when the mom tried to get him out... And I start taking them in with me more.

Parents, what do you do?
Kids asleep in car and wife asks you to buy milk.
First off, I would never call my wife in a scared shitless Beta voice and ask "what do I do?"
It would be more like,
Me: "I'm on my way home, the kids are asleep"
Wife: "We need milk"
Me: "Too late for that, see you in a bit"

I think they were just searching for a line to tie into the song lyrics. "Beth, what can I do?"
Not sure how beta Gene Simmons is IRL tho.

Wake them up to buy milk
Go home without milk
Lock them in car and buy milk
Other?
I lock them in car and buy milk but I'm more scared about someone reporting me then something bad happening to them.
Thoughts from parents only please
I was thinking the same thing. You used to be able to lock the kids up and go into the store but now you may very well have some hero good samaritan "save" your kids and you get in the news for being a terrible parent, etc.
Also if the wife is at home with no kids then screw her, why doesn't she get the got dam milk?
