quote:
What concerns me isn’t that some kids fee this way, I know Most trans people who say they have always Felt this way.
It’s that kids this young really don’t know enough about anything to really understand whether they’re trans or just you know a little boy who’s into girly things. For a six year old what’s the difference?
That’s a valid point. That’s why it took longer for me to connect the dots. I remember being 13 and looking up our Encyclopedia Brittanica and finally found the information about transsexualism. I was like “yep, that’s exactly what’s happening”. I couldn’t transition then, and don’t know that I would have wanted to. Times were much different back back in the 80’s/90’s.
.
I’ve run across very few cases where I felt that a child was indeed felt born the wrong sex. You could just tell. That’s why I feel that parents should just let their child just dress how they want and support them. Not necessarily encourage or push, but support. If the child grows out of it, no harm no foul.

You can’t give sexual consent until you are 18 because you’re not mentally mature enough and you are endanger of being taken advantage of. But yea let kids fresh out of diapers make complex life changing decisions regarding sexuality and identity. Both situations involve a child or teen that thinks they know what they want and likely are incapable of thinking rationally and considering repercussions. Failure to intervene in one makes you an awful parent yet failure to encourage the other is bigotry
In short: Honk Honk

People are sick. Mom wanted a daughter so bad that she converted her youngest son. A 6 y/o can't make decisions like this unless prompted to do so. They can't decide which cereal they want much less if they want to be a chick or not.
