They were leather soles shoes that I wore completely through. Everything but the top part of the welt is new, full resolve, but from here on out only the rubber will need to be reworked. Had some inside, back of the heel, work done that shouldn’t be if I take better care.

They cost at least $615.

They used to be all over the place, not many left. My pop used to take his to a guy in Bossier.

The guy did both inside and outside work to the shoes and I went with a matte finish since they’re casual shoes. First day with them back.
I see the estrogen replacement therapy is working. #girlpower

There's a ton in Dallas. About 10 within 15 minutes of me.

Been sending my Allen Edmonds shoes back every so often. Always happy with the returned product.

Why would you pay so much to have shoes recrafted if you don’t even use shoe trees? Basic maintenance is important.

They don't charge $250 either. It's something like $125 I think.

I wear them every day, just like one would wear a Wolverine or Redwing boot. No one uses shoe trees on those. I NEVER polished them and they’re just my work shoes, wear with the same raw denim pants. It’s just my less hip version of boots, so I treat them as such. Doesn’t mean I don’t like them, I just don’t want them to look dress shoe crisp.

How'd they get to the level that you need to spend over $250 if from here on out they only need $30 repairs? That math doesn't check out
They fixed the shitty engineering of the original $365 shoe.
I mean, spend 3 bills on Danner boots, if they're made in the USA, and they're completely recraftable.
Go cheap with the same company and get glued together chini boots for under $200? Throw those sumbitches away when you're done with them (but I got a lot of hard use out of mine, so I'm not derogating.)

Why don't you use a shoe tree?

I ship my shoes off to Risk Shoe Store in Sherman, Texas. Father did my shoes originally, but his son has been doing shoes for 30 years. They do great work and have a quick turnaround.

What would that do?
I’m not going for a dress shoe look, I’m going for a broken in black pair of Wolverine/Redwing boots look. They actually made a Luke boot just like this. I just wanted something a bit different.

I do this as well with my dress shoes. Are these the after pics? Not trying to be a butthole, but I feel like the top of the foot has way too many creases for a freshly reworked shoe. Could just be the material too...

Should have put different bottoms on. Ones that will last longer. I feel like a better job could have been done here and for cheaper and quicker.

Keep them in good shape and help remove moisture from wearing.
You owe it to your shoes.

I appreciate your dilemma and the fact that you were able to find a solution to such. But now I have a shite-ton of dress shoes being advertised at the top of the home page.
