re: Out of these 4 companies (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Apple) which is most likely to fail?

The easy answer is Apple
No debate really

Exactly. Anyone thinking Amazon is going down because people are going to eventually cancel their prime accounts has no clue what Amazon does.
Amazon's cap will only grow larger as more companies ditch their on-premise data centers for offerings from AWS or Azure. MSFT has the upper hand with older businesses since they have an in-road with their software licensing for MSFT Server and Office but all of the *aaS' services that are offered by AWS are better than their Azure or even GCP counterparts.

This has already happened and no one is close to taking Apple down.

Ha! More kids in college use Apple than other bands. Microsoft will be outed one day when the other companies get tired of their shite. They might seem big, but they don't have the future the others do in my opinion. Google knows way too much, Amazon isn't going anywhere for awhile (I don't even use it, just to point out) and apple will continue with their brand supioriorty. Look at how little cell phones you see now a days in phone stores. Add that to how they own the younger generation.
Can someone tell me why they think Microsoft is so important, I really am curious here.

They certainly don't do just hardware.
What software do they sell? (Don't know)
Is there an area they are increasing market share? (Legit I don't know, but assuming no)
Software definitely gives them huge advantage with hardware.

Business my company couldn't operate without them.

This is pretty dumb, they would be the last one to close shop.
The fact Oracle and IBM are still a major force should show you the old tech dogs have longevity the younglings only dream of.
Amazon and Google are awesome, but it is true what they say about the brightest stars - poof. MSFT and Apple blazed trails and that will always pay off more. In the end Google and Amazon are just streamlining existing units of business. They do a kick arse job at it, but they are not true trailblazers.

amazon will get competition and retards will quit giving them $120 bucks a year for late deliveries and not so cheap products. Amazon prime is garbage. i was getting 3-5 day delivery w/o it. Their movie/video/show selection is crap. I can get shite cheaper near me. And i'm not a retard who needs to order a 12oz soda and carton of ice cream, pay $3-5 bucks+ for a hipster brand and wait 3 hours for it to be delivered, like some lazy arse.
This is dumb on so many levels. I’m a cloud computing engineer for Amazon, and Prime is definitely NOT the most profitable sector of the company hahahahaha

Nearly every Fortune 500 company runs at least one of these three enterprise software platforms: Microsoft Exchange (email, collaboration), Microsoft SQL Server (database management), and Microsoft Sharepoint (document sharing, collaboration).
Windows Server controls 40 percent of the server operating system market. While the other 60 percent may be UNIX and Linux variants, it's further segmented by various distributions.
Microsoft Azure is the second largest public cloud host behind Amazon Web Services.
Microsoft Office is used by nearly every organization imaginable. Yeah, there is some competition with things like Google Docs but nowhere near the scope of features used by many businesses. Try getting an accountant to give up Excel.
PowerBI is the leader in business intelligence analytics platforms.
That's just enterprise.

Do you work for Amazon or just use AWS?

Pure anecdotal evidence but I have known some school districts that have tried to abandon Office for Google Docs but ultimately ended up reverting back within 2 to 3 years. Office with all of it's bugs is still better than it's competition.

None of them will ever fail in our lifetimes.

I work for Amazon Corporate within the AWS IoT Device Management team.

I recently attended a demo for IOT with MongoDB and Datadog alongside AWS. Amazon has so much going for them right now and now is the time to get in on the action. I’ve picked up a few certs for AWS over the past year and I’m looking for a position working with it full-time.
