It produces 1/2 gallon at a time.

It's predetermined, there is a way to force a plant to only produce female seeds.

Those particular seeds are obviously valued more. There are also automatic seeds, where you don't need to shift light periods from 18/6 to 12/12. Those tend to produce less though, being the genetics it's takes to produce autos.

I'd also say photo>>>>>auto.

I came close a few times to buying a still from this company in Colorado.

got their 3 gallon stove top. Its sweet.

that being said
However, be advised it is illegal to distill alcohol without having either a "distilled spirits permit" or a "federal fuel alcohol permit." It does not matter if the alcohol is for personal use only, not for sale, etc. A common misconception is that only stills 1 gallon and smaller are legal. This is not true.

edited to add
I bought mine strictly for distilling water.

It doesn't PRODUCE 1/2 gallon at a time. It holds 1/2 gallon of a wine or mash. The yield is 7 ounces if you start with a 12% wine or 12 ounces if you start with a 20% mash.

No it is not.

This is a hobby of mine but it is illegal in most every state. Stop giving out false legal advice dumbass.

It is against federal law to distill any alcohol period regardless of amount without a permit or license depending on state .

The state of LA will issue a permit to you as a manufacturer and then you can be legal. The whole "personal use" thing is a pipe dream created by morons.

quote:

Louisiana statute, Title 26, Chapter 1, Part II states that a license must be obtained before dealing in liquor. The Liquor Manufacturer/Supplier permit is issued to any person who makes, blends, rectifies, or processes any alcoholic beverage containing more than six percent alcohol by volume.

God damn man stfu.

It holds 1/2 gallon of mash or wash, which should yield about 8-10 Oz of drinkable high proof alcohol if enough sugars are available and distillers yeast is used.

You could bump that up to 11-12 Oz by using a turbo (ethanol) yeast, however that taste like shite or drop it down to 3.2 Oz with bakers yeast which actually taste the best but has a lower yield.

It's amazing how widespread it is that you can distill for personal use.

Heck, I think it's even "illegal" to freeze distill things like beer.
