doesnt have the same sense as the emergency crew
He has raced enough to know at what point to expect the emergency crew and how much time he has to get his car whoaed down to pace car speed. 1/2 lap is far too soon for anyone to get on track.

You mean reaction time to the guy in the black drivers suit who almost got hit by the car in front of TS that had came even further down a race track he is not supposed to even be standing in?
at that speed I'd think a texting soccer mom in her mini van could have reacted better

've been seeing from those who want to condemn Tony without any evidence
You mean other than the video evidence. Which is pretty evident that he hit the guy.
Also, looks pretty conclusive that he punched the gas, but for what reason is unknown.
FWIW, I think the guy committed suicide doing what he did. I think Stewart has some partial blame. That is just assumptions based off his past history.
Stewart was never going to go after the guy, but he wasn't going to miss the chance to be a bully.
No jail time, $15MM civil settlement.

The MSB thread was frustrating... people coming in using words like "obviously" and "clearly".

Everyones response is that you have no clue because you have never drove a sprint car. Only one person in this thread had experience and he was on the fence with his assessment.

Bad pic but I'll give you that, 2 cars and then young alpha highly competitive mad male steps farther down the track ....

whoop-di-fricking-do, speed on my usual whip doesn't even register until 69mph, driving a sprint car would be like driving a golf cart in comparison, an electric one, with an almost dead battery

That is no proof of sufficient time. Your ignorance brah, your ignorance....

At least 4 other cars didn't hit Kevin or his car, and all seemed to see him.
Did you also see how K.W. backed away from the cars before T.S. ran up the track to level his young stupid arse??

For those not able to see and hear Tony accelerate, you need to watch the video on a larger and louder monitor.
17" screen here and racing experience tells me it could have even been a car in the pits ... maybe not even on the track.

There is no evidence in that video showing that TS accelerated, turned toward him, or anything else that would suggest he did anything maliciously.
The "rev up" that people hear is more likely from a closer car. Can't be proven from the video that it's TS. Other cars passed higher than TS so why is it that TS's line was wrong? The turn to the right happens after contact which makes sense since he struck the right rear.

It looks like vehicular manslaughter to me.
Not a Stewart fan?
Honestly, from the video, the guy would have been just fine had he stayed in his car and off the track....particularly if he hadn't jumped out in front of that one race car at the last minute. That whole track is one of those compacted dirt courses. Cars don't turn or stop on a dime with that kind of traction.
I don't follow Nascar or whatever kind of cars those were in the video....so I don't know if any rules were broken or if either person didn't follow safety protocol. From an outsider's perspective, that looks like there was no way he could have avoided tagging that guy. Had he not turned left at the last second, he may have hit him with the front instead of the back tire.
I don't think we can honestly tell which car was accelerating from the video. They all sound exactly the same.
I have a question....why was he so infuriated that he had to jump out onto a race track? Was the collision with Stewart's car on the previous lap unavoidable or was it intentional? They seem to make contact pretty frequently in racing.
Is there not a pace car for this type of race? What is the typical safety protocol?

are you suggesting the drivers hadn't stopped racing and weren't slowed to a safe speed passing the car in the wall?
Yes, that is correct. The flag stand is across the field from the accident. Tony would have only about 1/2 track of slowing to a safe speed. If you watch racing you know these guys don't use much brake to slow down to pace speed. No one on emergency crew gets on track until they are told to do so. On a track this size it would be after at one lap of yellow.

Go back a few pages and look at the view from one of these cars. Pay close attention to right front.
