Honeywell 5000 series is a very good digital non programmable thermostat with a large display. Cost about $75 and easy to install. Might be worth giving this a shot. I could tell you where to get one if you mention where you live.

The Honeywell Wifi thermostat is reasonably priced and the app is super easy to use. I installed it myself after watching one video. If you have a newer house, the colors match up to the 'codes'- R is Red, G is Green, etc. the manual says to pay close attention, but it's pretty easy to figure out the pattern.

I've always had programmable and would prefer to stick with that. But recommendations appreciated. Live near DeRidder.

Don't have ant contacts in DeRidder. If you don't feel like tackling yourself, just wait for your repairman!! Better to be safe then sorry.
