the best designed course from a strategic standpoint in the area

Define area.

You're right. Bad design makes it a bad hole. Just like #18 at Oakbourne.

I like the layout better that English turn. La tour has nice greens but the wind beats the hell out of you. TPC I only played once and I can't remember it too well.

New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Houma/Thibodaux

How is a Par-5 with a landing area that is effectively 250 yards Wide a bad design? Hit less than driver. Jesus, every hole doesn't have to be a straight away driver swing to be a good hole.

90* dogleg right. If you hit driver you go throught the fairway. If you hit 3 wood and miss it at all you cant get to the corner. Out of bounds 10 yds. right of the tree on the hill at the corner. In my opinion is is a fit in hole. They had to design it that way to make it fit. These are just my opinions.

As for the area mentioned, I haven't played golf in any of those areas execpt Atchafalaya.

Banana slice works well on Oakbourne # 18. If done right, 8 iron into the green.

What is the par 5 on th back where you tee off perpindicular to the fairway and if you go through you are in huge mounds with the ball 2ft. above your feet? That is not any good either.

Yup. A shite stain on an otherwise great golf course, IMHO.

Atchafalaya or OCC? I've found that OCC has made made most other courses easier for me
