Serious enough to see your doctor in clinic. Not an emergency. Good luck, man.

I know you weren't being disrespectful.

I do hope you are better soon. Keep your appointment tomorrow and I think you need several days off from work. Eat well, lots of protein, necessary for wound healing.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

I have a bite of some sort on my calf, I was in the warehouse wear I work moving some stuff that hasn't been moved in years.

If it happened at work be sure to report it to your employer so workers comp can pick up the bill if you truly have a spider bite from work. It's most likely going to be diagnosed & treated as cellulitis/staph/MRSA. Did you see the spider, where there multiple bites, where did the "bite" occur, was the body part covered? What symptoms do you have?

The redness is pretty well defined, they did not mark it. They may very well have measured it, the middle was black.

I would definitely get another doctor to look at the wound. If the wound appears as you described, I would have taken a culture swab of the discharge from the wound site, then put you on some antibiotics, may debride the area depending the condition of the wound.

Waiting really does not accomplish anything, beside the potential of the infection spreading and/or the necrotic tissue causing more damage.

I am sorry it took so long to update but I had little information to give. Now I am happy to say that it has started healing. As of this morning a lot of the soreness and swelling is gone and it is starting to scale off a little bit. I will never know what got me but I will always have a quarter inch hole in my calf. I don't think it was a brown recluse from what I have heard they do a lot more damage.

Thank you Isabelle, the nurse told me Friday that it would start drying out, at the time I wasn't very confident but she was spot on and I am very thankful.
