OT Dentists: Are semiannual checkups necessary for kids who still have all baby teeth?

Long story short, wife and I are really good about making sure our kids’ (4.5 and 2.5) teeth are brushed 2x a day. We brought our oldest to dentist 7-8 mo ago and let’s just say he was NOT a fan of the teeth cleaning process.
Coming up on time to schedule another but am hesitant. The cost isn’t an issue but just wanted to know if it was really worth the fight if we are doing the recommended daily maintenance and he still has his baby teeth.

Subtle kids have teeth brag. How many downvotes do you think you'll get from Tennessee and Kentucky fans?

They can still get decay, even if you're brushing with them everyday. How much sugar do they consume? Bring them to the dentist.

Oral health for kids is dependent on a few things.
1. What condition are your children's teeth in? Any chips/cracks etc. that can cause issues going forward prior to adult teeth coming in?
2. Do you or your neighbor own a pit bull? Statistics show you won't need to worry much about their teeth, as they likely won't be around much longer anyways.
3. How often does your child brush as well as what is their diet like? Lots of sugary acidic foods?
Answering these questions will help us provide u a response.

The fight will only get worse if you stop now. The early visits are just as much about building trust and familiarity with the process as it is about the actual cleaning.

Yes. Everyone’s teeth are not made the same. Some are strong and are ok with longer stents bw cleanings. Others aren’t as lucky and need to b monitored closely. You won’t know unless you bring them in.
