What about hot stoner chicks and weed?
I'd move to Colorado. Have sex with stoner babes and smoke and eat edibles

Real world:
I would pay off all my debt which would leave me with the vast majority of that money. I would buy the absolute largest life insurance policy that I could get (that would pay out and assuming nothing terminal would throw a flag on my medical exam). That way my kids and wife would be set up or at the least a hell of a starting point. I would then take about $50k and take the family on a month or two month long vacation so they would have the memories for ever. Then when I get back I would work like hell to have everything in my personal life in order (ie. the house in shape, estate planning, splitting up all my stuff so there are no arguments to wedge between my family. I would like to think that with that amount of time I could plan something out where my wife and kids would get a birthday present (or at least a card) and flowers for valentines day for as long as they live. Just a little something that would help them remember me in a positive light every year individually for the rest of their lives.
No kids/family:
I would take a home loan for the max I could to add to that $1mm. Set aside just enough to not default and / or have anything reposed and put all those bills on autopay for the year. Then I would set out to die with 1 shiney penny in my pocket leaving nothing on this earth while traveling the world hunting, fishing, and renting exotic cars that I have always wanted to drive.

National Geographic, the Smithsonian Institution, and others offer "around the world" tours by private jet charter, the cost is about $80K per person and go for 4 weeks stopping in a dozen or so countries. I would take at least a couple of these trips.
