This whole thing has a Joran Van Der Sloot / Natalie Holloway feel to it, except for the fact that the body was found.

Not really.

That case was defined by the fact that it happened outside of the US and the consequences of it happening elsewhere.

This is pretty straightforward and unlike the other case, I'm pretty sure answers will be unearthed in due time.

Seemed like a bad idea to trust a bunch of 18 year olds to Aruba.

A complete stranger, sticking up for a complete stranger that was murdered, to other complete strangers on the internet.

How necessary and brave of you. Thank God you’re here to stick up for her. Lord knows the media would’ve been all over TD grabbing these nuggets of info without you pointing out the flaws in this wild speculation.

Stay strong. Keep fighting the good fight.

Yeah, we are gonna have to disagree on that one.
He is apparently a creep and a drunkard who abuses women. He has a wealthy daddy who will spend whatever it takes to hire a high powered legal team that will no doubt get a preponderance of evidence thrown out to sway the case.
I doubt the truth will ever totally come out in this. Once this jerk skates, he will likely continue to live the drunken lifestyle and abuse women, just like Van Der Sloot.
Last but not least, the victim was a sweet little blonde girl that by all accounts, everyone loved.

What do you mean by abuse women? Not trying to defend him but all I’ve seen for that is the girls friends saying they would console her crying over him etc. sounds more like he was just a college dude who would hook up with A chick then ghost them until he felt like talking to them again. Unless I missed something

I see no plausible way he skates, unless the prosecution is inept on a monumental scale. He may get less time on a lesser charge than he deserves, but a significant portion of his future will be spent incarcerated

This person in Oxford apparently knew the guy for a very long time. They were in college together and had a wide circle of friends. It's not like this girl went on vacation somewhere and some fling killed her for unknown reasons.

I don't see how this is comparable to the other case other than the fact that both ... umm ... were attending SEC schools?

Read the article. There are many others out there if you don't like this source.

I’m with you dude she was drunk. And I’ve walked that stretch a thousand times

I don’t see why it’s a big deal. I don’t see why it has one effect one way or the other on whether or not she was pregnant.

But if someone insists it changes whether or not she was pregnant, I know a real life example of a buddy who knocked up a girl not too long ago, she stated she would get an abortion from the beginning but was dragging her feet, I’m assuming out of guilt. She continued to get hammered drunk every weekend and finally got an abortion after 14 weeks or so.

You never know what the rest of the story is. We certainly don’t in this case. What’s ridiculous is people painting what they see as a pretty obvious drunk girl in the same light as holocaust denial.

I’m with the aubie, I’d ban bet anyone that alcohol shows up in her toxicology report, and it has absolutely nothing to do with negating the atrocity of what happened to her.

The difference between this and Van Der Sloot is Van Der Sloot never went to trial in the disappearance of Holloway. This is going to be a trial in Oxford, a town that despises their reputation being drug through the mud more than almost any other town in the United States. A double murder taking place in this town is the worst thing to happen to it since the journalist and that other guy were killed when James Meredith was enrolled. I don’t see how Farese is going to get a non-biased jury to let this piece of shite off. The entire town is out for blood (no pun intended).

But I definitely see the similarities between them as individuals, and if he gets away with this, I could see him murdering another woman like Van Der Sloot did.

Take this with a grain of salt given all the rumors, but I did hear one where he once raped her. I’m not inclined to believe that, but that may be where he’s getting that from.

I’d say it’s 70/30. It wouldn’t shock me, but I think there are plenty of reasons to give her the benefit of the doubt here. I may be wrong, but her drinking is fairly irrelevant to this case, but some of you think it is almost to the point of blaming the victim.

First thing this kid’s legal team is going to do is ask for a change of venue.

Where would they change the venue? Anywhere within an hour of Oxford will still feel the town’s wrath.

So it gets moved to BFE where a bunch of sawmill workers are on the jury staring at rich college boy. That may be a little better for him but not a whole lot.
