I remember in the early 80's attending The Learning Tree nursery that we toured the McDonalds - behind the counter - in the summer when I was 6 years old. It was awesome, and the fact that I still remember the details tells you all you need to know. It was like touring the Millennium Falcon as far as I was concerned. The ice cream machine worked as well.

The 80’s FF employees were like the chick fil a and raising cane employees we have today. In BR most were young white kids…at least the FF places we frequented. Now those same restaurants are staffed with black adults. Also FF was fast back then. Now it takes forever and the service is terrible and rude. Wendy’s drive thru on Essen a few months ago…”what you want”? Then fricks up the order. I won’t even go thru BK anymore their employees are terrible.

I remember my Mother wigging out around 1975 after getting a hot dog at a Columbia, SC Hardees. They put mayonnaise on the hot dog and they may as well have put a white dog turd on it as far as she was concerned. We never went to Hardees again, that is for sure.
