You argument of poor writing just doesn't hold up.

In your mind, I'm sure it doesn't.

I've been on it the whole time. The point is that words are no justification for what happened. The point is that because the races were what they were in this case, the supposed slurs are being used to partly explain the actions here. It's ridiculous.

It’s all part of the original topic. Why don’t we have the video tapes? You know the store has cameras.

It’s because a black person killing an elderly white person isn’t news. It doesn’t fit the narrative. That’s directly related to this story. You ignoring that fact doesn’t mean it’s irrelevant to the story.

I don’t think that’s fair since the guy had a steady job. He wasn’t on welfare, selling drugs, or in a gang.

He’s a hothead, but at least he wasn’t otherwise being a drag on society.

You just said in another post that it was bad or confusing. Clearly it is also true in your mind.

It is simply amazing to me that they think words justify physical contact and ultimately killing someone.

On the flip side, it's also amazing that dipshits like this old guy think it's worth parking and getting out of their car to go in and yell at some minimum wage employee. Just go to another fricking restaurant.

If we're going to project racial and social strife onto every news story that has a little bit of bad or confusing writing in it, then we're all going to be exhausted.

The media already does this for us, every single story has a racial and/or social justice angle no matter what the actual subject matter is

This is no excuse for the [insert racial slur] to hit and ultimately kill someone. Stop being so fricking soft.

I thought you implied it was good writing earlier?

I said using the word "allegedly" twice was bad writing. I would have written the first paragraph differently. Maybe something like:

quote:

A Dunkin Donuts employee in Tampa is charged with the death of a customer after he allegedly punched the man who may have used a racial slur, causing the victim to fall and hit his head.

Multiple ways you could clarify that account. Timeliness is more important than accuracy, and editing is optional.

You've already said it was bad and or confusing. You've conceded that you agree with me without knowing it.

I didn't say it was. I said this old guy is a piece of shite too. You can call a spade a spade without excusing the other dipshit.

Stop being so soft.
