If I had to guess it would be the people who lived behind the school more towards the canal. Used to be good people back there who just wanted some attention from the city for basic servicrs like cops passing through every once and a while and upkeep of streets. Brother Matthew was very much an advocate for those folks as was Brother Fisher

I spent most of the Saturdays in the Spring of 1986 washing the busses and doing other labor intensive things under the watchful eye of Bro. Thomas. Did my fair share of landscaping around the old "grotto"....apparently I was not the first member of my family to get that intimate with it's upkeep .

Seems more like residents from the area that are 'saving the residents who can't speak for themselves.'

Making sure the neighborhood stays the way they feel it should.
