That's excessive.

Seriously. I work from home and we have two conference calls a week. And typically one gets cancelled. No FaceTime bs.

I worked at FedGov in an agency that allowed up to one day per week. They had the ability to tap into our computers remotely and see what we were doing. They could track every keystroke we made. We also had to keep a written log of each activity. It was absolutely ridiculous. I rarely did it.

The funny thing is that you could go to the office and screw off all day and nobody cared.

I had a conscience and I worked my arse of my entire career.

My wife started working from home this week and loving it! They passed out a memo about those that are at higher risk, can work from home, so she used the exception. At first she felt guilty, but then I told her she already puts in more time than most and works harder, she doesn't need to worry and in fact, may show how much more she is needed at her company. All I know is that she no longer has to make an hour drive to work and usually a 1 & 1/2 hour drive to get home everyday! By avoiding getting ready for work and travel, she is home an extra 3 hours a day! This is one case where the virus issue has really helped us and talk about saving gas money!

If you cannot tell whether an employee is completing work without 3 video chats a day, the position is probably redundant.

I work remote all the time anyway, and I never ever turn my camera on during web conference calls. Weird to see so many people doing it right now.
