Yep. Hell, 2000 sq ft looks like a mansion to me. The largest house I've ever lived in was 1400 sq ft.

Anything bigger than my single-wide is unnecessary.

My sisters father inlaw has a 2 bedroom house that is 12,000 square feet

as far as bedrooms its basically a crazy big master, then a guest room in the portion of the house that was built in the 1700's(11k addition on small old home.)

Almost every large house I’ve ever been in had multiple wasted rooms that were never used like parlors, foyers, or dining rooms.

Usually it’s a waste of money just for status purposes.

My house is 2100 sqft and I don't get the appeal of a huge house. I could have a way bigger house in the suburbs, but I don't see the appeal of having more room for shite I don't need. I hate clutter.

Agree with this 100%. My sister has a mammoth house but it's in the middle of nowhere. I'll take being able to walk and bike places over having a movie theater room any day.

How does one waste a foyer? Do you not go into your house?

Done with the larger homes, kids are all gone, looking to build a smaller home with a large kitchen and sports bar attached

I’m guessing you’ve never been is really big houses with ridiculous foyers 15+ feet long?

You don’t consider that wasted space?

My foyer is only around 10'. No, I don't consider it wasted space.

And I've used my dining room several times for big groups in the 6 months we've been in this house.

This

We have 3600 sq ft and it's way too much for me and MrsLarson. We are going to sell our house as quick as we can and go to about half that size.

Well, it's your word vs mine. Not really sure you're making the point you think you are

No, it’s the word of almost every person I know with a large house and my word as someone who have stayed extended periods of time in large homes versus yours

That's still just your anecdotal evidence vs mine. For every person you have saying it's a waste, I have someone that says it isn't.

That was fun.

I'm not the one saying most and pretending my opinion is somehow more valid than someone else's, now am I?
