Your predicament isn't about finding housing as much as it is about finding the right roommate.
Being that you want "partier" roommates, I wouldn't rely on a roommate matching system. If you get someone who isn't and you are, they will get your arse kicked out
That said, I partied well enough in college and it was never at my own place.. You may as well go somewhere with a roommate matching system, and worst case you just don't host parties. That'll give you the semester/year (depending on lease) to meet friends and find people you actually want to live with.

Also this.
OP, seriously coming from someone who is only 24 and not your parents -- DON'T frick UP YOUR FRESHMAN YEAR. You'll find it near impossible to come back from it.

I was being sarcastic.
Spend time with the ladies if you have the ability to do so because they will never be concentrated like this the rest of your life but don't be one of those dudes that is there in the fall and gone in the spring.
Sit on the couch, Sparky. I'm about to let you in on a secret.
College isn't about education. Whatever field you choose, you will be an incompetent idiot unable to go into the work force the day you graduate.
What getting through 4 years of college shows is that you got up and went to class so you will get up and go to work. It shows you can learn, put in some effort were smart enough to get a degree.
College is really just a filter that weeds out people with no drive and no ambition.
You are welcome.
Have fun and go to class.

So true. I've gone through the ringer of college, been spit out, and jumped back in for some more.
Been 4 years since I started college (with a year off) and I'm still suffering from bullshitting around and poor advice from advisors.
Don't take anyone's word for it when it comes to your schooling. Get confirmation from multiple people and document it whenever you do anything with the school, because there is no safety net for bad advice, you're just screwed. Take control of your schooling.
God I wish I could sit down with my 18 year old self for a day.

Stayed with a friend of a friend in one the last time I was in BR. Whatever you do, do not live in one of those places.

About a month. Seems pretty far off.

It was late. "Not far off" is their Standard response.

Why did you start your sentence with "so"?

I just want a squad or crew like I see other guys have, or the camaraderie . Just chillin with your roomates, watching tv or playing pong. "broing" out. I want a core group of friends.

That's close enough, no need to move out. You could do a lot worse than having roommates who love you unconditionally and will cook meals for you. You're not gonna find that in a dorm.

true, but my parents and i fight, and i want to have fun.
Posted on 8/7/15 at 2:39 pm to Boo Krewe
College is about more than fun, it's about learning. And one of the most valuable lessons you can learn is how to have a good time with your parents. Just give it another couple semesters, the fighting will slowly stop and you'll realize just how much they love you.

Brightside Manor was $700 for a two bedroom when I lived there 2 years ago

This seems like a no brainer.

Brightside Estates or whatever it is called now. Pool parties almost everyday. Lived there from 03 - 07.
I live there. Never once has there been a pool party. The pool is tiny
The Cottages or Woodlands is the place to go for pool parties.

I wanted a place with 300 to 400 in rent, safe,
Embassy Apartments. They are across from Walk Ons. It's like $800 for 2BR, so get a mate and there's your $400/mo. Place has 2 pools and is an easy walk back from Tigerland. You're not going to find it safe and cheaper anywhere else, except maybe Oxford Avenue (i.e. LSU's best kept secret).

How does one find non sketchy college age roommates that want to party in a good area?
Go to 'LSU Class of {Whatever Year}' facebook page. You'll find some winners there, so throw out some lines.
