I was listening to NPR today because Sean Hannity drives me crazy. They had a whole segment on how wanting to lose weight was a bad thing. It blew my mind. The lady kept saying you can get healthy without losing weight and doctors shouldn’t even tell fat people they should think about losing weight.

I was in Europe right before the pandemic with my wife in kind of an anniversary trip in italy of all places. Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany etc. I ate and drink like i was a freaking King for 2 weeks. I actually lost over 5 pounds and felt great. (Drank lots of water, smaller portions i guess, walked a ton) This was a eating drinking vacation.
i remember looking around at some point and telling my wife, You know what i haven’t seen in days, “Really obese people, not a single one”
It’s our freaking diet it’s literally killing us

Now I just stop eating when I’m full instead of stuffing myself.
Well our culture has put an emphasis on pleasure and for most Americans eating is pleasure.

Yep - once in a while I have to pick up my daughter from LSU - she’s easy to spot bc she’s one of the ones that is not obese
My daughter is an LSU Freshman. When I go visit her I notice the opposite. Most gals in her building are Skinny or fit and they wear far less clothing than girls wore in the 90s when I was at LSU.

Dude, I ALMOST asked if their kid lived in the Honors Dorm but didn't want to be that guy calling smart kids fat.
My daughter lives in apartments right next to Campus. The whole building smells like weed and bad decisions. But it's pretty safe and the kids aren't fat.

I’m always amazed when we go to Utah how in shape everyone is. They also spend a lot of time outside.
We drove through Utah last Summer. They have a shite ton of public outdoorsy shite to do. It amazed me how you could pull off the highway every few miles and find a hiking/mountain bike/atv trail that was open to the public and free.
It's a different lifestyle up there.

Same here when we went to Montana. Everyone was in shape. None of the convenience stores around Big Sky offered fountain drinks larger than 12oz. Not a Big Gulp to be found.

Went back to my hometown today for a funeral tomorrow. Got there around lunch time and had a craving for Chick-fil-A, so I stopped at the one on the local college campus.
As I’m standing in line, I noticed how all of these college kids are fat blobs of shite. 18-20 year old kids who should be in the prime of their lives and they were all built like Jabba the Hutt. I’m only 30 and can’t remember seeing that many obese kids 10 years ago when I went to school there.

Thank God my wife comes to the gym with me and enjoys lifting weights. She hit one plate on each side for bench last week for a set of 8.
Don’t think I could date in todays world. The odds of finding a girl that keeps herself in shape are slim
