Obesity is the result of a dysfunctional society.
We live in a dysfunctional society. We place profit as our priority, and youth culture is a new concept over the last hundred years. We separate children from parents, and children are forced to learn from other children, it’s even encouraged by us, the parents. we have them in school, sports teams, kids church, kids table, and now with gaming and social media. Children or not capable of providing the environment for one to reach maturation, this creates a dysfunctional adult, one with childlike tendencies. A child’s compass points to either parents or peers, and doing so opposes the opposite.
Coinciding is the ever increasing distractions of parents. These distractions are workaholism, entertainment i.e. TV social media, substance use.
We seek human connection, but replace them with these distractions. We do this because they are predictable and easy, and they almost work to fill the void, but never do, this is why these distractions always increase.
With today’s parental distractions, and our societies placement of children with children, it is almost impossible for a parent to keep that compass point on them, and to have the power to parent their child into their teens.
when parents are not close to their children it forces them to use punishment techniques that actually suppress their thoughts, ideas, emotions. It hinders individualism, and self-esteem. And ultimately pushes the child away to peers.

It's also why healthcare is so expensive in this country. Over 40% of healthcare spending in this country is spent on heart disease and Type II diabetes, both preventable by not being fat. Fat people with insurance and medicare are just as bad as welfare freeloaders.
