Their budget was about 2 million a few years ago and the parade had significantly more people riding the last few years. It's huge now (had the most riders of any parade in 2019). Captains of parades typically are unpaid volunteers. Not with Nyx. Even without the skimming (which she is likely doing from all the stories I've read), she takes a 69,000 salary just for being the captain.

My wife is friends with some ex Krewe members. Their dues were 2k just to get on the float. 2k x 3500 members is 7 million dollars. Not sure how much it costs to put on the parade, but I’m sure there’s a lot of room to skim.

That's not an OT baller salary but if she has 3500 members and murky accounting then it wouldnt be that hard to bump it up to $125k.
