re: NYC Spends $44k per student- test scores still dropping

Anyway, to be fair, what is $44,000 in NYC dollars the equivalent of in any other US city? Maybe $25,000-$30,000? I usually see a figure like $16,000 or $17,000 cited as the average cost per public school student in the country, so NYC’s cost per student would still be above that.
