Female Soviet pilots flew more than thirty thousand combat shorties in WW2. There were female snipers, tank crew members and machine gunners.

Russia had mass groups of people run into fire until the Germans ran out of bullets. There were no female officers, or tank drivers, or anything other than canon fodder.
Wow, you're completely wrong.

they haven't completed IBOLC yet, but it isn't a very difficult course so I don't see any failing to be honest

The IDF seems pretty top notch and they have been having women in combat roles for a long time.
No they aren't and no they haven't.

If women truly want equality in the military why aren't they pushing for females to register at 18?

because it`s a PC stunt, a few women officers in combat roles aren`t going to make very much difference, if a situation arose where the shite hit the fan and conscription was needed, they don`t want women and most women know it`s a terrible idea.

My bad, didn't read the whole article and thought this was about them passing already.
Considering the USMC tried this already and no woman passed, I guess the army is trying it because theirs is easier. I guess we'll find out.

This is a common misconception. Because of the nature of the conflicts, specifically WWII on the Eastern Front and the Arab-Israeli Wars, the Red Army and IDF have the most experience with women in combat, far outstripping any other nation in history by a significant margin. And, it is important to note that neither the Russian Army (successors to the Red Army) nor the IDF continue to employ women in traditional combat roles.
Now, why do you think that is?

Bingo. Go back to page 2 and see the article I link talking about the IDF and women in combat arms.
