I hope the professors aren't liberals. It would accomplish nothing if they are. Liberals are partly to blame for them having these problems.

Men adapt to the world they are brought in to, and act in the manner they are taught. Whatever skills or politesse they lack are the result of poor preparation on part of their families and educators.

These poor kids don't even know that you need to bring a pen to fill out an application. I like to ask them how they planned on filling the app out. If you can't even come prepared to fill out the application then how can I expect you to come prepared for work.

I actually agree with a lot of others here in that I think this type of thing would be tremendously helpful as a new graduate...I remember feeling awkward as hell while interviewing and for about the first year of my job because I didn't know a lot of that kind of thing. honestly, would have been a whole lot more useful than the music appreciation elective that I took.

A course for the general population should be part of the placement office's curriculum.
This is part of their hospitality program. That makes sense. The headline for the article was very stupidly misleading.

Exactly. If you want the job, act like it.

What a waste of time. 15 years ago there was a guy in my circuits class with a pony tail. Without directly addressing him he told the class that he would not have been able to get a job with long hair. Two days later the next time the class met, he had cut his hair.
What an embarrassment that there has to be a class dedicated to this.
