I drove by that day while it was on fire. It was Mother’s Day, I forgot the exact year. Maybe 2001

All of the EBR courthouse brawlers are rejoicing. The fatigue is real.

Looking at the pics I don't see a single line heading inside the house to try to put the fire out. They are fighting that one from the outside, at least by the pics supplied.

That's going to allow for way more water and smoke damage than necessary.

I'll assume those firefighters are from a volunteer department and not trained professional firefighters who deal with that type situation far more often and are way more comfortable making an interior attack.

Jesus Christ, I shouldn't have gone to Facebook to look at the comments. The absolute ignorance of some people. My response to them would be, Good! I hope we can get rid of all traces of slavery. Makes it easier to deny it ever happened. I mean, what proof do you have?

Ironically if anyone tried to bulldoze Auschwitz, the jewish people would be the first to rise up to protect it. Its hallowed ground to them, not in spite of the cruelty it housed, but because of it.

Lots of comments in the story on Facebook about the ghosts of slaves getting retribution. Miserable people.

I don't see an end to it either. shite seems to be picking up steam instead of slowing down. I'm trying to stay out of it, but reading this stuff on social media over the last few days, it's getting harder and harder to keep quiet.

The more often people click on links to those types of videos, the more the media channels are going to push similar news stories. News channels are looking at click counts and giving viewers what their counters show they are most interested in seeing.

Totally agree with your point, but it’s not like Germans flock to Auschwitz for their wedding receptions.

So, in your opinion, if they didn't host weddings but operated solely as a museum, then the folk over on Facebook would not be celebrating its demise?

High resin content makes that wood a firestarter whether old cypress or heart pine. It doesn't take much
