Not getting along with co-worker

Won’t go into a lot of detail, will keep this short and sweet, but I have a co-worker with whom my work relationship has deteriorated. We used to get along and were friendly with each other at work, but now it’s the total opposite. Problems arose between us suddenly. Tried to talk it out but only made the problem worse. Now it’s just anxiety inducing just to be around this person.
My question for y’all is, when you have an issue with a co-worker, how do you deal with it? Can you give me an example of when you and a co-worker had a problem with each other, were y’all able to resolve it? Is just avoiding the person and ignoring them the best way?

Dont go to HR (if you have one) because i PROMISE you, nothing is sacred; It will get back to your co-worker.
Don't go to your boss because see above.
If you cant make it right with your co-worker directly, then find another job. I promise you they want you gone as much as you want them gone, but she/he is probably banging a superior at the office.

Ask to be switched from the fry cooker to shake machine repair?

I like the avoid and ignore approach.
Time may make it better.

There’s a difference between taking a chick home he was hitting on at bar and.........office politics rearing it’s ugly head. The root cause of the issue determines if it’s salvageable.

Let them make the mistakes.. Don't talk about it to other co-workers. Let them talk and gossip because it will come back to bite them on the azz.. Just do your job the best you can..

I used to work with someone that I absolutely hated. Not only was he a terrible person in general, he sucked at his job and had awful personal hygiene. Completely miserable to be anywhere near this guy. My boss volunteered me to train him. I went to work everyday during that time period miserable from the time I saw him pull into the parking lot, until I left work each day. I just stuck it out and eventually he got fired.
My only advice is either stick it out and avoid that person as much as possible, or find a new job. If finding a new job isn’t an option, then I guess you only have 1 option.

Just talk to them direct and off the record away from work. They are probably just as anxious to resolve issue

I’ve had the same issue. One coworker constantly disrespected me (medical assistant and I’m the MD) and I finally told her she has a terrible attitude and she needs to get her shite together. It got elevated to the clinic CEO and now she doesn’t give me attitude. That said, I still work 100% with women who throw you under the bus any chance they get. If you’re dealing with a woman, good fricking luck. Maybe try escalating to a manager if they aren’t being reasonable.

No joke I had this problem at a previous job
Had sex with my supervisor
Was also banging a coworker at the same time but I don't think the supervisor found out about that
Realized they were both too crazy even for me and broke things off as amicably as possible
Later I became supervisor so I was working with my old supervisor
She started acting psycho again starting rumors about me
I kept calm and just informed my managers about the rumors
She kept trying to escalate the tension but I kept calm
This pissed her off even more
Finally one day she came in and told our boss "either he goes or I go"
They told her to get her shite and get out
Morals of the story. Women are crazy. Especially when they're on Ambien. Also don't frick your boss and coworker at the same time because even if they don't have any proof they are just going to get jealous if they hear rumors

At lunch time, take something out of your boss’ office and hide it in your co-worker’s desk. Then rat your coworker out. Problem solved.
