As a toddler I kept seeing a bad arse commercial for a toy I wanted for Christmas. Problem was I couldn't properly describe the toy... all I could get out was "a bigfoot with claws". At Christmas I threw a massive shite fit when I got a regular bigfoot monster truck.

Here is the commercial I saw....

My parents couldn’t afford the Grasshopper RC car.

I had a “Turbohopper”.

What's interesting nowadays, is that a really good example of a Nikko Turbohopper can command much more money that a like example of a Grasshopper. The Tamiya re-releases really put the value of some of these cars in check. Prior to the re-re's, some of them were commanding serious $$$. You'd see new in box Sand Scorchers going north of $4K easily.

Only three of my cars in my fleet are 100% completely OEM original. My Grasshopper, Wild One, Grasshopper II Super G. Some are very close, like my Falcon, which wears a reproduction body, but has vintage decals, but underneath the shell, is 100% original.

Here's a photo of the first half of my Tamiya collection. (small compared to other Tamiya nerds)
