I'd bet you were thinking of the Rampart/Canal intersection, which is definitely a little sketch at night.

How does that not qualify as nearby, mate?

It is a sketchy block, do you consider thugs and homeless sitting there welcoming ?

Nah, he only considers it sketchy if they're actually openly brandishing weapons and actively beating people.

About 6 blocks away at Canal and Basin is what you were thinking.

Once you get past Rampart it gets shady as frick 24/7

Bourbon and FQ are woefully under patrolled

Not in the last year or so, lots of State Po Po walking around. The problem area now are on the borders (like Canal)

Because I go out there more than you do and always see more than that. Why can't you just not be a bitch in a NOLA thread for one time in your life?

There are plenty of nonbullshit complaints you can make about NOLA. 6 cops on a weekend night on all of Bourbon is not one of them.

You seem upset. Your city is dangerous and underserved by police. Won't kill you to admit that.

They are there, especially after 10-11pm. They are trying to get funding for a Troop designated just to the Quarter which would be smart because the state is paying an arm and a leg now for overtime.

Would be a great move for the quarter. I stick to WHD and uptown these days. Quarter is just too much of a shite show.

If drinking on a law school student budget hit up the Bywater get hammered then uber to the Channel and hang around Magazine. I live in the LGD and you wont ever have any issues around there. Igors, Parasol places like that are cheap.

Always had a good time at the Bywater bars. We spend a good bit of time at NOLA and Courtyard as well.

A few well placed, well trained vigilantes place on some roof tops could take care of a few of these animals , quickly and humanely.

Bywater bars.

Friend had a rent house open when I moved there in 07. Its weird (artsy fartsy hippies) on the surface but some good people down there that I still hang out with.

Try J and Js on Dauphine, if you and a buddy or your girl can still stand after a $50 tab there I will pay it, its not possible. I got carried out of there around 3am one night and my tab was $36.

You do realize you are arguing that canal/bourbon isn't a sketchy spot in a thread about 5 people beating the shite out of someone and robbing them at that location right?

Sounds relatively simple and easy to do until you realize the NOPD will confiscate your gun, the perps family will sue you in court, the NOPD may or may not charge you with the illegal discharge of a fire arm in city limits (a Felony charge), and if you get passed all of those obstacles you have to worry about the vermin's friends and family targeting you or your family in some sort of retaliation event which doesn't usually work out so well.

Shoot the thug and keep on walking. Do you honestly think NOPD will waste 2 seconds looking for someone who did their job for them?
