Mitch is probably praying for a hurricane to threaten New Orleans soon. He probably thinks it'll give him the chance to rehabilitate his image, at least on the national stage.

They need to nuke the SWB. Give that dude who spoke Becker's job.

Damn I missed it. What did he say? What was his name?

What did I miss? Did on OT poster get on the mic and troll the city council?

Didn't get his name, but he is a guy that apparently works at the pumping stations the SWB is getting grilled on and dished on how hard it is to get anything done, how micromanaged the system was, how the availability of the pumps was poor, how power availability was poor, etc.

Haywood was his name. Actual worker at a pump, I believe. He was off, but went in to help. Went through some of the pumps and the real deal. Also said there are lots of employees who have been there for years and know how the pumps work, but SWB puts in people who haven't been there long and don't know how to work the pumps properly. Had lots of facts and also talked about the hierarchy of getting things done. He put himself on the line telling what he told.

Oh I can assure you that Mr. Haywood will be sent on a long term engagement tomorrow when he shows up for work that includes him relocating his desk outside of the S&WB's offices. He blew these idiots totally out of the water.

He should get a long term engagement with his job and a big raise. I guess now that so many have either resigned or been fired, maybe he'll be safe, though whoever is above his supervisor is probably not going to survive.

He really did. Best guy of the day by far.

I hope not. He appears to be one of the few good people they have over there.
Man if they had public comment before that would've been awesome.

Becker promised all kinds of stats and reports on each pumping station to the Council.
Mitch doesn't want that shite getting out.
Man, what a fall guy. If I were him I'd expose everything, all the corruption from top to bottom. You know he knows some shite.
Exactly this. He's either getting a metric fricked ton of hush money or he's the key witness in the eventual trial

Hopefully, his presentation will be quoted verbatim in the media.

This is Jernigan.
Landrieu wanted Bourbon Street done NOW, so he likely ordered Jernigan to forego the public process.

I would not be shocked if he comes down with a terrible case of shooting himself twice in the back of the head.

Looks like most of the news cameras left. They were probably there to hear from the main players.

know Becker.
A nice, genuine guy at heart, but he got caught in a trap today. They may have been mistakes under his watch, but that was heart-wrenching for me to watch.
That was brutal. He had no idea what he was walking into. He was obviously set up as the fall guy and didn't even see it coming. You could see his entire demeanor change as soon as he figured it out. His closing statement about how he gave his life and career to the city and would like to continue to serve the people was a pathetic desperate cry of a dead man.
I hope he goes scorched earth on Landrieu and all the corruption at s&wb. Ano hope the city Council continues to demand all that he promised, but they won't.
Landrieu is close to burying himself though. How many scandals can he survive?

Hopefully he doesn't fall victim to a robbery gone wrong turned homicide.

I'm sure he was expecting to coast into the tricentennial
