I wouldn't call it a conflict more like an eternal beatdown.

Guarantee you we will look like the saviors in all of this. In one way or another the US has been able to claim they were acting on behalf of the greater good in just about every conflict since the mid-1800s. Whether its defending little ole Kuwait or stopping the spread of communism, we had a casus belli.
NK has us by the throat right now. They are holding assets abroad and our allies hostage with their actions and rhetoric. NK as an entity probably only has less than a decade of runway left, if they have a war with us they effectively force their population to believe their stories that the monstrous United States was waiting all along to gobble us up. You can only cry wolf for so long before people start to question the story.
