What is the legality of the speeding fines not ticketed by officers in the city? Should I pay these?

They hit me for doing 30 in a 20. It obviously was not a cop it had to be a camera stationed on the side of the road

i only question it because areas of Louisiana have deemed these illegal and have begun making the state refund the fines.

The school zone sign is hidden behind a tree and only visible when you are right up on it. I keep up with traffic down this road and have never noticed the sign until I received this ticket

Take a picture of the sign and send it in to the email on the ticket. Also, call the city and complain that the sign is hidden. They may give you a report #. Send that, also. You take your chances that way, but you may get lucky.
My niece was driving my car with me in it in a school zone there, but school was not in session at that time. Got a camera ticket in the mail. I complained to the City, got a report number and sent an email to the outfit collecting stating that school had long been out and I reported the school zone lights blinking when they shouldn't have been on. Got a letter dismissing it.

Well....they cannot cite you for speeding if you weren't driving. That's grounds for dismissal right there.
